Leading my Bible class one Sunday I am reminded in Revelation 1:17 of what Jesus said to John on that day on the isle of Patmos, when Jesus gave him the vision of the last days. John said, “And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And he laid His right hand upon me, saying unto me. Fear not: I am the first and the last.”
How do you see Jesus? Do you see Him as a baby in a manger? Do you see Him seated in power and majesty? When you face sickness, or sickness in a loved one, do you see Him as a friend and protector? There are many problems that occur in this lifetime of ours, and there is nothing more important than to have faith in God that He can overcome any obstacle.
God wants to take us beyond the limitations of our natural mind so that we can see Him as He is and to know Him in the fullness of His manifested power.
We see Jesus having compassion on John and He touched John with His right hand. Just this one touch from Jesus calmed his fears. Jesus reassures John “Fear not,” Jesus is always there to comfort and encourage Christians.
Fear does not come from God. Peace is what Jesus brings to us. We just need to trust Him, Jesus will overcome the world.
Until next time. Praise God!
