Oh, to be young again and dream of life as we thought it should be! How often in our early years had we thought of how we were going to change things as we were growing up. Better living conditions, nicer clothes, fancy cars, falling in love and raising a wonderful family of our own without ever having any problems.
Some people have achieved their dreams, others haven’t. Sickness and death have no respect of age. Young, middle age, or ready to retire, makes no difference and life can be difficult at any age.
My early years were not filled with riches. It wasn’t as bad as the cold miners daughter, but we didn’t travel much, my parents didn’t have a lot of money. They never owned a car, but they had faith and love. We did own our house and land. I use to call it God’s little acre. I never knew until much later in life that friends I grew up with, who were better off than me financially, would have given anything for the property that we had.
In Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?”
Now in my seventy’s, I am so thankful that I have the life that I have, and the 48 years I have shared with my wife who is still the love of my love, and the girl of my dreams.
Be thankful and be satisfied with the life that you have, don’t worry about tomorrow, put all the tomorrow’s in God’s hands and He will bless you and bring you to the fulfillment of your life.
When everyone is seated around the table this Thursday to celebrate Thanksgiving, thank God for what you have and trust Him for what you need.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Until next time. Praise God!
